This guidance was originally developed to provide advice to Police Officers when delivering "death messages", however the information contained within may be useful to anyone coming into contact with a person who has been recently bereaved.
Dealing with someone who has lost their parent, partner, child, spouse, sibling or friend can be the most difficult and traumatic part of anyone's job. You may never be able to make it better for families, but by following the guidance you may not make it worse.
